Thompson Mechanical Moves to New Building
Tevin Thompson, third generation to help carry on the business. Jack Thompson has been active with the chiefs for well over 30 years and was a sponsor of the old CEAC bowling league.
For over 50 years major Chicago area corporations have relied upon Thompson
Mechanical Corporation for their HVACR, process piping and maintenance needs.
Now from their new 21,000 square foot facility in Melrose Park, Illinois, Thompson
is ready to continue a tradition of excellence in the HVAC industry for the
next 50 years.

Tevin R. Thompson, President of Thompson Mechanical Corporation and the third
generation to lead the company, recently provided the Chief Engineer with a
tour of their new facility at 1990 Janice Avenue. With more office space and
a new, more efficient area for their sheet metal and piping fabrication projects,
Thompson can fully utilize their state-of-the-art computer assisted machinery
that assists them in continuing a long reign as one of the top mechanical contractors
in the United States.
A computerized plasma cutter now makes all of the cuts in the sheet metal.
With a fleet of 15 service vehicles, Thompson Mechanical provides maintenance
contracts, HVACR repairs and mechanical renovations for customers throughout
the 6 county area surrounding Chicago. Jewel Foods, Osco Drugs, Walgreen's and
White Hen Pantry's are just a few of the major area companies that have come
to rely on the Thompson name when it comes to maintaining their HVAC and mechanical
needs.
One of the first area HVACR contractors to develop a computerized service
dispatch center, Thompson has become known as a specialist in the HVACR remodeling
and renovation area of the industry. "With our automated facility," Tevin Thompson
said, "we have the ability to remain flexible and adaptive". This, Thompson
added, was one way Thompson Mechanical could provide modern HVACR systems within
older buildings, allowing manufacturers and processors to remain competitive
with high tech equipment without having to relocate their businesses.
During our tour, we spotted a framed invoice from Thompson Mechanical to the
old Palmer House Hotel in Chicago, dated in 1948. Today Thompson is providing
services to many other Chicago landmarks and someday landmarks such as the United
Center.
As we completed our tour, we were left with the impression that with such
a deep tradition of service and excellence, the Thompson name will be a part
of Chicago's HVACR industry for generations to come.
