New Gas Turbine Filter House

New Gas Turbine Filter House

Camfil Farr has introduced a cost-saving "Gold Cone?" filter house that provides superior intake protection for gas turbines, combined with greater reliability, more efficient performance and reduced maintenance. The high-efficiency design helps to prevent fouling of turbine blades, resulting in fewer water washes, greater power output and less overall downtime.

The filtration system features a patented inner Gold Cone that adds 50 percent more media area to each cartridge. As a result, the filter house meets airflow requirements with a much smaller filter housing, thus delivering premium performance at a competitive price while taking up less space. The design of the inner cone results in enhanced airflow through the filter house, for improved cleaning action and lower pressure drop.

Cartridges are vertically-mounted to shed dust readily, eliminating uneven dust loading and inefficient cleaning. Cleaning is accomplished by pulse waves that emanate outward from the inner cone in the center of the cartridge. Test results indicate that this pulse-cleaning method provides enhanced cleaning for more efficient operation, longer cartridge life and reduced service requirements. A patented cambar system, guaranteed by the manufacturer to be the fastest changeout system in the industry, allows trouble-free cartridge replacement with no tools required.

The Gold Cone filter cartridge uses an advanced, silicone-impregnated polyester/cellulose media with excellent filtration efficiency and high humidity resistance. For the most stringent applications, users may opt for an extra high-efficiency media that is 99.99 percent efficient on 1.0 micron and larger particles. Numerous gas conditioning equipment options such as inlet air cooling systems are also available. Camfil Farr will custom-engineer the filter house to meet individual site conditions.
