Metropolitan Industries

Metropolitan Industries

Metropolitan Industries in Romeoville recently introduced the Sump Boss which is a new line of battery operated pumping systems designed not to fail when the electricity does.

According to John Kochan Jr., president Metropolitan Industries, the Sump Boss is the result of over three years of development focusing on the most important elements of a pump. "During product development we focused on the pump, the auxiliary alarm/pump switch and the smart charger. The results are features not found on any other pumps," said Kochan.

Among these unique features is the smart charger. The smart charger acts as the brains of the pumping system by incorporating the most advanced stable charging and monitoring electronics on the market. Fourteen separate LCD dialog messages continuously inform or alert the owner to exactly the state of the pump and charging system in both the AC and DC power modes. "This feature separates us from competition," said Kochan. "Customers are not guessing if the pump is working. They just read the screen."

Another unique feature is the auxiliary alarm/pump switch. This is a one of a kind feature only found on the Sump Boss. This switch not only acts as a high water alarm, but also has the capability to override a failed primary pump switch and run the pump as a secondary back-up switch while sounding the alarm to alert you to the problem.

The pump is made of non-corroding construction. The column and shaft are made of stainless steel. The pump has the capability of pumping over 40 gallons of water per minute at a ten foot lift.

Kochan's confidence in the Sump Boss is obvious. "This pump is designed not to fail. Every feature is designed to compliment the other. To this day we have not had a complaint," boasts Kochan.

Metropolitan Industries is located at 37 Forestwood Drive in Romeoville, Illinois. They design, develop and manufacture integrated pump control systems for residential, commercial and municipal systems. For more information call 800-323-1665 or visit their website at www.metropolitanind.com
