President's Message June, 2009
Welcome To Summer!
Our last general meeting before taking off for the summer was held in May.
I want to assure you that the magazine will continue to be published each month
and as a board, we will continue to hold our monthly meeting to conduct business
for the organization.
May’s meeting had a great turnout. I want to thank all of our co-sponsors
for this meeting for their wonderful support and would like to mention each of
them in no particular order: Bobbe & Co., Bullock Logan, National Lift Truck,
Bornquist, Inc., United Test & Balance, Elite Elevator, Atlas Sales & Rental
and CECO Electric. We also welcomed the Chicago representative of the Chicago
Olympics 2016 committee to speak a little on their efforts to be the city in
2016 to host the summer Olympics. We wish them the best and hope that all their
efforts to be the host city succeed.
Our vendor appreciation meeting was also held in May. As in the past, we,
as a board, met with the associate members to show our appreciation for all
of
their support and to get feedback on what they feel would help them as a
supporting vendor and the association in general. I must say we received a
lot of good
information
that will be reviewed, discussed and acted upon to improve the organization
and bring more to our members.
Each and every month I ask our active members to support the associate member
companies. Our associates cover a vast range of supplies, parts, specialty
items, certified work and most anything you could possibly need or require.
With budget
preparation already started, I ask that you please keep in mind our Associate
members. These are the companies that support this organization and we
need to support them whenever we can. Kindly give them the opportunity to quote/price
out the things that you need. Even if you don not have the buying authority,
you can recommend one of our associate members to those that do.
Each month I touch upon the importance of continuing education. Education
is something this organization is built on. Education is something that
needs to be continued so I encourage each and every one of you to jump
into a seminar,
a class, get a certification and/or a degree.
I would lastly ask that we all keep in our thoughts and prayers our armed
forces.
I wish everyone a good and safe summer. Enjoy the time and we will
see everyone at the return of events starting off with our Annual
Golf Outing
in September.
Thank you and have a great month.
