President's Message May, 2009
Hello!
Well, another month has gone by. Our April General meeting was held at the
BeauJolie in Schiller Park and once again a good group of active and associate
members
turned out for the meeting. I want to thank everyone for their continued support
of the Chief Engineers Association. It is always a pleasure to see our members
enjoy themselves.
This month’s General meeting will be held at Carmichaels and our co-sponsors
are Atlas Sales & Rental, Bobbe & Co., Bornquist, Inc., Bullock Logan,
Elite Elevator, National Lift Truck and United Test & Balance. The meeting
will be held on May 20, 2009. Please make every effort to return the postage
paid card with your attendance count. These cards are used to ensure there
is plenty of food and seating arrangements.
I would like to remind everyone of the Harley Raffle at the May meeting.
If you have not gotten your ticket yet make sure to contact any of the board
members
so you can have the wonderful chance to WIN.
May is going to be our last General meeting before the summer break. September
will bring our annual Golf Outing, scheduled to be held at St. Andrews Country
Club. Mark your calendars for September 18 and I look forward to seeing you
there. Even if you are not golfing, join us for dinner and take the opportunity
to meet
and greet with your fellow chiefs and Associate members.
Although we will not have general meetings in June, July, and August the
Board will continue to meet each month and conduct business as usual.
As I have said in the past, The Chief Engineers Association continues to focus
on educating our members. Our associate members are there to assist you in
every possible scenario to ensure the completion of a top quality project.
You can
look to the Association’s members to provide for and fill your needs.
They also can help in educating you, your staff, and facility management
on better ways to save energy and operate your building efficiently. We strive
for that
on a daily basis, and, even though in most cases we have already achieved a
high level of efficiency, there is always room for improvement.
Don’t forget to continue with your education. We can all benefit from
a good seminar, a class, getting a certification, and/or a degree. I encourage
us to educate ourselves.
Lastly, let us keep in our thoughts and prayers our armed forces. They serve
with honor and pride and give us our freedom and safety from those who want
us in harms way. We would not be who we are without them.
Thank you and have a great month.
