March, 2009 President's Message
Hello To Everyone
I was very glad to see everyone that came to the February general meeting
and I hope that you had a good time.
The Board of Directors of the Chief Engineers Association held their annual
retreat in February to discuss and establish goals for 2009. For those that
attended
February’s meeting, I relayed the outcome to you. For those who were
unable to attend, I will tell you that the Board agreed upon a more conservative
approach
to 2009 due to current economic conditions. We do plan on continuing with the
events normally hosted throughout the year. Our committee chairmen will work
hard to make them the very best events we can for our members.
Mark your calendars for our annual St. Patrick’s Day event to be held
on March 18, 2009. Our sponsors for this year include Anchor Mechanical, The
Chief
Engineers, D/P Systems, Hill Mechanical Operations and Parkway Elevator. We
hope to see everyone there.
The upcoming time of year presents challenges for all of us. As we prepare
for the cooling season, but not yet ready to give up the heating season, we
encounter
the daunting task of switching from heating to cooling at a moment’s notice.
We all have our hands full but let’s not forget to maintain the balance
between this task and the other requirements of our job on a daily basis. And
try to make it to the monthly educational meetings. Spend some time talking
with your fellow chiefs and our Associate members. You may be the recipient
of some
timely information to help in your daily tasks.
As we wind down the heating season and ramp up the cooling season, I ask
that you keep our Associate member companies in mind when in need of products
or
services. They support us throughout the year and we need to return the support.
In closing, please keep in your thoughts and prayers the ladies and gentlemen
in our armed forces.
Thank you and have a great month!
Roland Steele
