Spot Coolers Offers Portable Cooling With Indoor/Outdoor Rating
Now larger spaces are easier to cool thanks to Spot Coolers’ new high-capacity
portable air conditioning units. Manufactured by North Wind, Inc. of Elk Grove
Village, IL, the “Kodiak Series” 7.5 ton capacity cooler is only
28.5” wide, making it easy to fit through standard 32” door frames
for indoor use. It is also outdoor-rated for operation even in inclement conditions,
making it the ideal cooling solution for tent events, weddings, banquets, auto
racing, golf, school activities, film production and other venues.
The first unit of its kind to be UL listed and CSA certified for outdoor
use, the Kodiak is available in 208/230v/3-phase or 460v/3-phase models for
different
voltage requirements and features a “Power Ready” light in the controls
indicating that the unit is “in phase” and ready to power up. This
is also the only unit of its type that has electrostatic filters to keep dust
at bay in applications such as data centers, scientific environments, IT rooms
or server rooms.
With an operating range of 50 to 115 plus degrees F, these units deliver
greater cooling power at higher temperatures than other models. Condenser fan
cycling
helps to provide the wide operating range without a rush of startup voltage.
