President's Message, June 2008
Greetings,
We had a lot going on in May. Our Vendor Appreciation meeting was well attended
and we received some very good feedback from the vendors which the board will
discuss and use as we see fit in order to help our active and associate members.
We also held our General Meeting at Carmichaels. This, too, had a great turnout
with active and associate members alike networking and having a good time.
Our general meetings take a break over the summer months of June, July and
August, and we once again pick up the schedule with the Golf Outing in September
and
our Octoberfest celebration. But this does not mean the board takes a break.
We will continue to meet monthly with committee chairmen as they set up their
events, submit their budgets and report to the board on the status of their
particular event. We do this so that the needs of the organization can be met
throughout
the year and handled properly. So mark your calendars appropriately:
JUNE: No general meeting
JULY: No general meeting
AUGUST: No general meeting
As an update to the picnic for this year: Due to a decline in attendance,
the board made the decision to make the family picnic a bi-annual event, alternating
with our Vendor Fair. So our next picnic will be held in 2009 and you will
hear more about it as soon as plans are finalized.
I want to remind everyone that the Quick Shopper is published for you as
a quick reference guide to those vendors that support our association. Please
keep it
by your desk and use it the next time you are in need of products or services.
They support us, so let’s support them. If you feel there is some information
that could, should or would help by being on the Quick Shopper, let us know.
We will look into it. If you don’t have one, please request one and keep
it handy.
Don’t forget our Associate members. These are the people that help to support
this organization and we need to support them when we can. Kindly give them the
opportunity to quote/price out the things you need. Even if you don’t
have the buying authority, you can recommend an associate member to those that
do.
You will find these vendors reasonable, fair, and completive in their market
share.
With summer upon us, and everyone planning and/or enjoying their already
planned events, I want to wish all of you a very safe, fun and happy summer.
You will
see the President’s Message each month in the magazine, and I hope that
you will have time to read it as well as the articles.
In closing, I ask that all of us keep in our thoughts and prayers our armed
forces.
Have a great month!
Ron Steele
President, CEAC
