President's Message, May 2008
Hello To All!
We held our bi-annual Vendor Fair at the White Eagle on April 16, 2008 and
it was great to see everyone and have such a big turnout. We had a lot of people
interested in the many new products being presented by the vendors at their
booths.
This was a good opportunity for everyone to put a face with a name or business
and to become aware of all the different products and vendors that are associated
with the CEAC. With these types of events, it makes our association stronger
and helps both the active and associate members. I thank all of the vendors
that took part in the Vendor Fair and all the members and visitors that came
out to
join us.
Our general meeting this month will be held at Carmichaels Steak House. The
co-sponsor for this meeting is Dearborn Companies. As in the past, this
will be our last
meeting before our summer break during June, July and August. The board
will continue to conduct business as usual during these months. We will start
back in September with our annual Golf Outing, so enjoy these months and
I look forward
to seeing you in September.
I wanted to take the time in this letter to discuss the function and key
responsibiities of the Wardens, Doorkeeper, and Sergeant-at-Arms. You
see them at the check-in
tables, the doors, and throughout the meeting. To put a name with a face
we have Bill Rowan, Sergeant-at-Arms; John Hickey, Doorkeeper; Ken Botta,
Doorkeeper;
Doug Kruczek, Warden; Larry McMahon, Warden; Mark Meany, Warden; Brendan
Winters, Warden; and Barbara Hickey, Warden.
Sergeant-at-Arms: Responsibilities include maintaining orderly proceedings
and proper conduct of the members present as well as being in charge
of the attendance
and funds collected at the door and/or during the general meeting.
Doorkeepers: Under the direction of the sergeant-at-arms, they perform
all the duties necessary for proper admittance to all general meetings
and to
ensure
order.
Wardens: Under the direction of the sergeant-at-arms, they assist
the doorkeepers with proper admittance and maintain order at all
times
during general meetings.
In addition, we have two ladies who work the registration table,
Cindy Gallagher and Pam Gonsch. Cindy and Pam assist with setting
up the
meetings, printing
nametags for those that have pre-registered and check-in for
those who have not. It takes
all of their hard work to make our meetings run so well. So the
next time you attend our meeting, you will know the people you
are talking
to.
As always, I ask that when in need of a product or service you
keep our Associate members in mind. These associate members
help support
this
organization and
we need to help support them in return. Kindly give them the
opportunity to quote/price
the things that you need.
In closing I ask that you keep in your thoughts and prayers
our armed forces. It has been five years and without their
bravery
and dedication
we could
not, and would not, be free.
Have a great month!
Roland Steele
President C.E.A.C.
