President's Message, March 2007
Greetings!
The month of March has finally arrived to herald the onset of spring and
the promise of new growth. Coincidentally, our annual St. Patrick’s Day
meeting will take place on March 21st, which is the first official day of spring.
So
make sure to join us at the Irish American Heritage Center to welcome in the
new season and meet with good friends at this annual gathering!
The month of March also signals the time when we take on the task of readying
our cooling towers and chillers for the cooling season. It is always important
to make sure towers are cleaned properly and checked for proper operation.
It is also important to order fresh chemicals for your towers. The shelf life
of
many chemicals is very short. Chlorine, for example, can lose about 50% of
its disinfectant properties in just 30 days. So make sure you start the spring
with
fresh chemicals and a clean tower.
I want to thank our friends at ITG Solutions for co-sponsoring our February
meeting. The meeting was very informative as well as enjoyable. We appreciate
the support
of our Associate Members who take the lead in keeping our members informed
through their co-sponsorship of our monthly meetings.
Last month we also held our annual board retreat where the board of directors
discussed plans for the future of our association. These annual retreat meetings,
which last all day, are very important for all our board members and provide
valuable feedback and insight into our association and the direction that we
are moving. I am confident that you will see many positive results in the future
that came about from discussions and planning at this meeting.
Associate members should be on the lookout for an invitation to our Vendor
Appreciation night that will be coming to you in the mail very soon. Our invitation
asks the
Associate members and advertisers to join the board of directors for a discussion
of our association. It is through this meeting that our associate members have
the opportunity to learn more about the association and to provide the board
of directors with ideas and suggestions to make our association better and
of more value to you and your organization.
I look forward to seeing you all at the St. Patrick’s Day meeting!
Sincerely
Harold Hacker
President, CEAC
