President's Message February 2006
Greetings,
I would like to begin my monthly messages to you by first thanking all of
you for the trust you have shown to me by electing me as president of the CEAC.
I
take this obligation very seriously and I want you to know that I will work
diligently to merit your trust as I assume the duties of my office.
This organization has come a long, long way during the past 92 years and
we have been successful in our endeavor to keep our readers and our membership
informed
of the challenges brought to our profession during those years. The future
promises to bring even greater challenges as technology and global events
impact upon
us and the way we operate and maintain our facilities. I want to assure
you that the CEAC will remain at the forefront of our profession, keeping you
informed
of these challenges and providing you with the tools necessary to successfully
overcome each and every one.
I want to assure our associate members of my deep commitment to keeping
the CEAC responsive to their needs. Our advertisers and associate members
are
the backbone
of our organization and without their unselfish devotion to our membership
we would never have attained the leadership position we hold today. You
have supported
us throughout the years and we are committed to supporting you in return.
Last month we celebrated our Installation of Officers Dinner Dance and
it was a great success thanks to the hard work of everyone involved.
I want
to thank
everyone who attended this great event for the support they showed
to the CEAC.
We have a very exciting year before us, beginning with our Vendor Fair
that will take place in April at the White Eagle Restaurant in Niles.
This fair
is always
enjoyable for both our guests and the vendors who display their products
and services. If you have not yet made plans to visit this year,
I urge you to mark
your calendars for April 19th. If you are a vendor and you have not
yet reserved your space at this event, I urge you to do so quickly.
As always,
we must
limit the number of vendors displaying to 120 so that we can maintain
the room needed
for other activities taking place during the show.
We are very fortunate to have board members who always step up to
put these events together and do all the hard work behind the scenes
that
make things
enjoyable
for the members of CEAC. I can never say enough to express my gratitude
for all of their hard work and effort.
In closing, I want to remind all of our readers that the magazine
you are holding in your hands is made possible by the advertisers
you find
inside.
Show them
your appreciation by calling on them for the products and services
that you need in your facilities. And when you do, make sure
you let them
know that
you found
them in the Chief Engineer Magazine.
Harold Hacker
President, CEAC
