Office Buildings of the Year, Regional Winners Named
BOMA/Suburban Chicago is proud to announce four of the five local Office Building
of the Year winners from Suburban Chicago were named North Central Region Office
Buildings of the Year by BOMA International on January 27 in Washington DC.
The North Central Region includes Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Indiana and
Ohio.
Windy Point in Schaumburg, managed by Cushman & Wakefield of Illinois,
Inc., was selected in the 100,000-249,999 square foot category. Highland Landmark
II in Downers Grove was selected in the 250,000-499,999 square foot category,
and is managed by CB Richard Ellis, Inc. Westwood of Lisle I & II, in Lisle,
also managed by CB Richard Ellis, Inc., was selected in the Suburban Office
Park, Mid-rise category. Turnberry Lakes International Business Center in Hanover
Park was selected in the Industrial Office Park category, and is managed by
IDI Services, Inc.
These regional level winners will advance to represent the North Central Region
at the International competition, with winners to be announced at the North
American Real Estate Congress and The Office Building Show in Toronto in June.
The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Award, created by BOMA International
and now in its 18th year, is the most prestigious and comprehensive award of
its kind in the commercial real estate industry. While most facilities are recognized
by their exterior configuration, appearance is just one aspect of the selection
process. TOBY is a management award, and therefore high evidence of efficient
management is the largest determinant in selecting one building over all others.
Quality management is defined by best practices, such as caring tenant and employee
relations, favorable community impact, and a superior level of building operations,
carried out by well-trained personnel.
