Touch-Free Washroom Fixtures Seen in Response to SARS
Concerns over the spread of SARS, coupled with the growing awareness that contaminated
washroom surfaces can transmit disease or infection, have sparked a rising interest
in touch-free washroom fixtures in office buildings, schools, health care facilities,
and buildings accessed by the public.
Technical Concepts provides automatic flushing units, faucets and soap dispensers
that require no contact, a feature that appeals to users and encourages them
to wash their hands properly. The company says they are easy to install, require
almost no maintenance, and provide a quick return on investment through reduced
water and soap usage.
The AutoFlush® activates toilets and urinals. In about two minutes, an
AutoFlush can be installed to replace a hand-operated valve without shutting
off the water. The sensors are powered by four "C" cell batteries
that last approximately three years. Unlike automatic flushers with solenoid
valves that can corrode, the AutoFlush functions with trouble-free cam gears.
The AutoFaucet® also operates with sensors, cam gears and long-lasting
"AA" cell batteries.
Sensors also activate the OneShot® Automatic Soap System, delivering the
right amount of moisturizing soap for thorough hand-washing.
